Lookup Teams Up With Logistics Startup Delhivery To Go Live In Delhi

Lookup, the online IM platform connecting customers and local businesses, has hit 1 million users in a record time of 9 months with over 800,000 downloads on Android’s Play Store alone.

Backed by Twitter co-founder Biz Stone and Infosys’s Kris Gopalakrishnan, Lookup provides a chat platform through which customers can connect with local vendors and businesses and can fulfill their daily needs ranging from from food, groceries, reservations, medicines, electronics and much more. On hitting the 1 million mark, CEO and Founder of Lookup, Deepak Ravindran said,

This is great indication of the overall potential of Chat as a Commerce platform. We now have by far the best on demand product catalog in the industry, the fastest hyperlocal platform with more reach and overall seamless end-to-end experience which will see significant added features in the coming months.

Along with hitting the 1 Million milestone, Lookup has announced several new features. These include the introduction of more categories, payment options, NLP/Artificial Intelligence, deep linking to other apps and a virtual store on its platform for vendors to sell through Lookup.

In addition to it, it also plans to enter new verticals such as education by new partnerships. With these partnerships & initiatives in place, Lookup expects to see further expansion and increase in its user base in the near future. There is no minimum order through Lookup, and users can pay with cash as well as credit or debit cards.

Furthermore, the contact information of customers is kept private ensuring the privacy of people. In addition to the free app on Android and iOS, users can access Lookup through Twitter, WhatsApp and SMS.

Founded in November last year, Lookup raised $382 K in seed funding and $3 million in Series A funding from investors like Infosys’ Kris Gopalakrishnan, Teru Sato, DeNA, MKS Group (Switzerland) and Twitter cofounder Biz Stone who is also an advisor to the Lookup team.

In a relatively short period of time, Lookup has emerged as an unparalleled leader in this comparatively new space in India as it claims to have 55,000 verified businesses registered across India from wide categories such as restaurants, pubs, grocery stores, spas, medical shops, car and bike dealers, schools, gyms, pet stores, electronics & mobile shops, florists, jewellery stores, clothing stores and many more offline stores.

Recently it teamed up with Roadrunner and Delhivery to provide a hassle free and smooth delivery services and further streamline the overall experience of its customers based in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru.
