Apple makes one of the best iPhone photo editing apps free

Apple has worked to make the iPhone a terrific camera, but sometimes you need a decent editing app to turn an average photo into a masterpiece. For a limited time, you can download the awesome Infltr (usually $1.99) for free through the Apple Store app.

Infltr aims to make photo editing easier than ever, with live filters that you can apply before you capture a photo or video, and an infinite number of effects. What’s more, you can also use it to edit Live Photos and animated GIFs with more than ten adjustment and transform tools.

You can edit things like saturation, brightness, contrast, tilt, and temperature, and use tools like rotate, straighten, and flip. There are 17 different crop presets to choose from, and you can save your favorite filters to your collection.

Infltr promises that using its effects won’t degrade the quality of your image, so the finished product will be just as sharp as the original. You can also view the history of your edits if you feel you’ve gone too far, and undo any changes you’ve made.

If you’re an Adobe Creative Cloud user, you can link your account to access your images on the move. Infltr also supports editing from and saving to Dropbox, and is already compatible with the new Apple Files app in iOS 11.

Infltr is normally priced at $1.99, but until August 15, you can download it for free through the Apple Store app on iOS. Simply look for the Infltr banner on the Discover page and tap the Download now for free button.

You’ll be redirected to the App Store, where a redeem code will be generated and you’ll be able to download Infltr for free. Note, however, that if you’re already running iOS 11, this step isn’t working, so you’ll need to download the app on a device with iOS 10 or earlier.
