Crowdfund Roundup bugiPhone cases don’t have to be boring and unpractical. With Edge, you get cool LEDs that notify you of incoming alerts for any app, let you keep an eye on battery levels at a glance, and more.

It’s just one of the awesome ideas in this week’s Crowdfund Roundup. We also have an ultra-affordable Android Wear smartwatch, the world’s smartest nightlight, the coolest e-bike ever, and a high-quality and affordable 3D printer.

Ticwatch — ultra-affordable Android Wear

The new Ticwatch series gives smartwatch fans ultra-affordable access to Android Wear and all the features you would expect from a great wearable, including GPS tracking, heart rate monitoring, Wi-Fi connectivity, and the Google Assistant.

It comes in two versions — one with and one without replaceable straps — both of which offer water-resistance, 300mAh batteries, Bluetooth 4.1, and 1.4-inch OLED displays. They’re compatible with both Android and iOS, and come in lemon, shadow black, and ice white.

Ticwatch starts at $119 right now on Kickstarter, and it’s scheduled to begin shipping this November.

Zing — world’s smartest nightlight

Zing is yet another example of helpful artificial intelligence. This smart nightlight features full color LEDs that automatically light up when motion is detected. It lights up gently so you don’t get blinded by bright light, and gradually returns to standby when motion ceases.

In addition to lighting up by itself, Zing can be programmed using the companion smartphone app. You can assign your own colors and effects, and create events that will activate Zing automatically when you need light.

Zing can even help you find your stuff by detecting Bluetooth signals from other devices. A pledge of just $36 through Kickstarter gets you your own Zing nightlight when they begin shipping in December.

Edge — the LED notification case for iPhone

If you’re constantly missing notifications on your iPhone, you need Edge, the LED notification case. It lights up when you get alerts and lets you assign different colored glows to different apps and contacts. Its unlimited customization lets you create an alert for anything.

You can save your settings in different profiles and switch between them in seconds. Edge will even provide you with battery status alerts, and gradual illumination as your iPhone charges.

You can pre-order your Edge case through Indiegogo with a pledge of $79. It’s scheduled to begin shipping next month.

MATE — the coolest e-bike ever

Evolve your cycling with MATE, the “coolest e-bike ever.” It’s feature-packed, with front and rear suspension, disc brakes, 7-speed Shimano gears, and a 350kw electric motor that reaches speeds up to 20 mph for those difficult uphill climbs.

MATE’s three-stop folding system makes it ultra-portable, and its built-in battery lets you ride for up to 55 miles on a single charge — and charge your gadgets while you ride.

MATE is shipping next month, and you can order yours now through Indiegogo at early bird pricing of $849.

Obsidian — the high-quality and affordable 3D printer

Now’s your chance to get an affordable, high-quality, and compact 3D printer at a great price. Obsidian offers easy plug-and-print setup, a power outage recovery feature, support for multiple printing materials (not just PLA), and more.

Features include a 3.2-inch touchscreen for simple control, a 2-megapixel camera, a quick-release nozzle that reaches temperatures up to 482F, a heated and removable bed, and a bearing spool holder.

Obsidian starts at just $99 for the basic package, which gets you a printer in either black or white with delivery and import duty covered for a bunch of countries. You can pre-orders yours through Kickstarter now.
