Alcatel has just announced a new VR and it is called the Vision. It is a standalone headset and it Android. It has all the components including the display components. So you don’t need to put your smartphone inside the VR like most other VR headsets in the market.
The Alcatel Vision has two 3.8 inch AMOLED screens. Both the displays have an 1,080×1,020 resolution. It is running an octa core processor. Has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Also we have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor and everything you need. All of this is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery which will give you about 3 hours of battery life.
The battery is not directly on the front of the device, so it is not very heavy. It has a 120 degree field of view and 17ms latency. Alcatel claims that both these numbers are on top of the market. Another very awesome thing is that it adjusts for myopia, so you do not need to wear glasses or contact lenses when you use it. This is a really good feature if it works good enough.
There are no clear news on the price but we can expect something along the lines of $560 or $660. It will be launched in the first quarter of 2017.
