TomTom has come up with an array of GPS watches, car accessories and bike accessories and what not. So without any foreplay let’s just get into all the devices one by one.
At first let’s talk about the TomTom Adventurer. It is basically for any kind of outside activity like hiking, running, swimming, cycling, gym exercises – basically everything that needs full physical concentration. With special features for skiing and snowboarding. While you are skiing down a slope the Adventurer will display live stats like your speed, altitude and gradient. The watch will automatically detect when you get on a lift and display all the key stats. But I don’t know how necessary it is. Cause if you are skiing then you need to have full concentration on it. Checking your watch for stats is not the most practical thing to do. But if you are skiing regularly and want to improve then this stats will help. It also has a built-in heart rate monitor and a music player. The TomTom Adventurer has a price tag of €300 and set to launch on October this year.
TomTom Spark 3 and Runner 3
Next is the TomTom Spark 3 and Runner 3. These two have specialized mapping features. There is a Route Exploration feature that will make new trails through places that you have not gone to. That is not the interesting part. The interesting part is that the route back on the map will be a different road.
The MySports website has maps that lead to undiscovered places. It kind of turns into a game. So you can chose a map, challenge your friends and just make a fun game out of it. These two watches will also track running, cycling, swimming and the number of calories you have burnt. But it does nit have a built-in heart rate monitor.
Both the TomTom Spark 3 and TomTom Runner 3 both have a price tag of €250 and they are now up for preorder and this will also be launching on October this year.
Then there is the TomTom Touch. This one is a little more health related. It has a built-in heart rate monitor, can calculate all stats on running, cycling and swimming. It has a price tag of €150 and it is up for preorder. Again launching in October.
TomTom GO, VIO, CURFER
Next the TomTom GO, the VIO and the CURFER. The new TomTom GO has a dedicated navigation unit that connects to Apple Siri, Google Now and Cortana. Using Go they can also read out texts, you can use them to make calls and everything your usual personal assistant can do. The GO comes with a 5 inch or 6 inch screen and it will be available by the end of this month.
TomTom VIO on the other hand is for scooters. It has round display that kind of looks like a rear view mirror. It connects to your phone. Does basically the same thing as the TomTom Go but just for scooters.
And the TomTom CURFER is basically a sports watch for your car. It measures the fuel efficiency, G-forces, braking efficiency.
All of these are gadgets that do not really fall on the very popular category of gadgets. But they are useful to a certain type of people. These types of people are going to be looking at these gadgets and want to buy it.
