Gboard 6.4 Beta Update Available With New Changes

If you’re an Android user, you most likely know what the Gboard is. But in case you missed that, it’s the Google Keyboard, a keyboard for mobile devices devised by Google that is available to use on Android-powered phones. Although you might be tempted to believe that the Gboard is just like any other mobile device keyboard, it will surprise you with a lot of features that you can’t find anywhere else, or you find them rarely if you do.

The latest version of the Gboard that’s in beta is version 6.4, which will be released to the public as soon as the beta testing process stabilizes it. The first thing that it brings new is a new incognito mode much like that we’re familiar with thanks to Google Chrome. If you access it, your keyboard will sport the shady man in a trench coat with sunglasses and a hat on. I like to call him Detective Chrome, but it seems that now he will be Detective Google. This mode was available only for Android O before, but now it is also supported by Android Marshmallow and upwards.

Other than that, a lot of interface changes are also taking place with Gboard 6.4 beta. For one, the Theme page is different, now being presented with a carousel separating the Custom, Landscapes and other various sections one could find there. There is also a new GIF icon and support for new languages, and also an important change in its machine learning algorithms.

All in all, Gboard 6.4 beta looks promising, so let’s hope that the stable version comes to our devices soon enough. What do you think about these changes? Let us know in the comment section below, we would love to hear as many interesting opinions.
