HTC U Ultra vs. HTC U11 – Design and Processor Comparison

HTC has released in January 2017 the U Ultra device and this month (June 2017), the Taiwanese manufacturer has brought the U11 handset. Today we will compare these two devices and let you decide if you want to purchase the newest handset that HTC has just released or just get the one that got released half a year ago.

Designs

The HTC U Ultra measures 162.4×79.8x8mm and weights 170 grams. It has an ionized glass back that’s curved on to the device’s four corners, and which changes its color (reflections) according to the light around it.
On the other hand, the HTC U11 is more chunky, but slimmer and lighter, as it measures 153.9×75.9×7.9mm and weighs 169 grams. The difference between the two devices is that the U11 has its glass back bolted onto the metal frame.

Displays

The HTC U Ultra has a primary 5.7-inch super LCD5 display that supports a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 513 ppi and a secondary 2.05-inch display (for showing notifications) that supports a resolution of 1040×160 pixels. The HTC 11 has a smaller display of 5.5-inch that supports a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 534 ppi.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The HTC U Ultra comes with a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821, a dual-core Kryo CPU clocked at 2.15GHz and a dual-core Kryo CPU clocked at 1.6GHz, an Adreno 530 graphics card and 4GB of RAM. On the other hand, the HTC 11 features a Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 chipset, a quad-core Kryo CPU clocked at 2.45GHz and a quad-core Kryo CPU clocked at 1.9GHz, an Adreno 540 graphics card and 4GB or 6GB of RAM.

Storages

Both devices have been released in two internal storage variants of 64GB and 128GB, which you can expand up to 256GB using a microSD card.

Cameras

The two handsets sport a primary camera of 12MP that features dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, OIS, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR and a secondary camera of 16MP.

Batteries

The HTC U Ultra and HTC U11 are powered by a non-removable battery of 3000 mAh and even if the HTC U Ultra has a secondary display, it seems that the battery is lasting longer on this smartphone.
